Welcome to the Tenille Marie Foundation

Hello and welcome to the Tenille Marie Foundation’s blog! I’m Tenille Stewart, the founder and CEO, and I’m excited to share our mission, vision, and the important work we are doing to support families impacted by cancer.

My journey with cancer began as a teenager when I had cervical cancerous cells removed at the age of 17. That experience, while challenging, was just the beginning. Although I have 3 healthy kids now, that surgery had caused me to have a whirl of complications related to preterm labor and having high risk pregnancies. I recently faced two more battles with cancer, thyroid and breast, that shaped my understanding of the profound emotional and financial burdens that families endure during these trying times. 

These personal experiences highlighted a significant need for support, particularly for single-parent families who often face additional challenges in their journeys with cancer. It was with this awareness that I founded the Tenille Marie Foundation.

What We Do

At the Tenille Marie Foundation, our mission is simple yet profound: to provide financial and emotional support to single-parent families of cancer patients and to parents of children undergoing cancer treatment. We believe that no family should have to navigate this journey alone.

We focus on several key areas:

Financial Support: We offer assistance with medical bills, co-pays, medications, treatments, and essential living expenses. Our goal is to alleviate some of the financial stress families face, allowing them to concentrate on what truly matters—caring for their loved ones.
Emotional Support: We provide resources and a community for families to connect with others who understand their struggles. Through our support programs, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and hope.
Awareness and Fundraising: We are committed to raising awareness about the unique challenges faced by single-parent families in the cancer journey. Through various fundraising events and initiatives, we work to gather the resources needed to sustain our programs and reach more families in need.
