Meet Tenille Stewart: A Journey of Strength and Purpose
Tenille Stewart’s story is one of resilience, strength, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. As a single mother of 3 and a survivor of cervical, thyroid and breast cancer, Tenille has faced some of life’s toughest challenges head-on. At 17, Tenille had surgery to have cervical cancerous cells removed, a challenging experience that has since affected her ability to carry pregnancies full term, making her high-risk. In 2020, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, a diagnosis that led to multiple surgeries and treatment during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Just as she celebrated being cancer-free, life threw another curveball—this time, it was breast cancer.
Faced with this new diagnosis, Tenille made the difficult decision to undergo a bilateral mastectomy, prioritizing her role as a mother above all else. With the support of her family, friends, co-workers and medical team, she came through this battle victorious, but the experience left a lasting impact. She knew the overwhelming emotional, physical, and financial burdens cancer brings—not just for patients but for their families, especially single-parent households.
It was this experience that inspired Tenille to create the Tenille Marie Foundation. She wanted to be a source of hope and relief for families facing cancer, just like she once had. The foundation is dedicated to providing financial assistance, personal care items, and emotional support to single-parent families and parents of children undergoing cancer treatment. Tenille’s mission is simple: to ensure that no family fights cancer alone and to offer them the resources and support they need to focus on healing.
Through the foundation, Tenille hopes to turn her personal struggles into a force for good, helping families through their darkest days with the compassion and care she knows they deserve.
